Each class will consist of 5-10 sessions, with each session lasting approximately 1.5 hours. All classes will be scheduled on weekends. The course is scheduled to run from September 9th to October 8th, spanning five weeks, but please note that there is a possibility of changes due to unforeseen circumstances.
These English, Science, and Math courses serve as introductory courses for Chinese students who have recently arrived in Canada with limited knowledge of Engilsh, Science and Math terminologies. The objective is to provide a clear explanation of fundamental concepts, useful formulas, and essential terminologies to the students. The science courses should cover Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, or at least two of these subjects.
The tutor should have a strong familiarity with the English, Science, and Math curriculum in either British Columbia (BC) or Ontario (ON). It is the tutor's responsibility to prepare the necessary materials for the classes. Upon confirmation, the tutor must send the notes and other relevant course materials to the provided email address before August 31st.
The tutor is required to provide feedback on a Google sheet after each session and complete the report card by the end of October. Additionally, they should mark any assigned homework.
This is an online course. We will use ZOOM to arrange the class.
The hourly rate for the class is C$50 per hour.
For providing feedback final report and marking homework, we will pay a total of $75 for each course, calculated based on 2.5 hours of work at a rate of $30 per hour.
Applicants must be available and committed to teaching on weekends for the entire duration of the five-week course.
It is required to have a valid ON/BC Teacher's certification, indicating eligibility to teach in Ontario or British Columbia, respectively.
Additionally, having prior teaching experience is preferred and will be considered during the application process.
